This phone is the very rare version of the Motorola StarTAC fitted as removable handset in a number of Jaguar cars. 
These were fitted as original equipment in many 
1998 to 2001 year models of XJ8, XK8 and XKR
with integrated hands free and S-Type with voice activated system. 
This phone has the Jaguar Software upgrade and will work with all of the in-car features. Because of the additional software this phone will be 100% compatible.
Standard StarTACs without this extra software will only charge in the car and won't work with the handsfree interface. 

These phones have the Jaguar badge on the front and display the Jaguar logo on the screen at startup.

 This phone is now discontinued from Jaguar. Previously they were for sale at well over £400. These handsets are very rare and sought after. Grab them while you have the chance.

These phones are UNLOCKED and work on the GSM 900 band.
This means that
in the UK they will only work with Vodafone and O2 small simcards.
They will not work with T-Mobile, Virgin or Orange.

This phone was fitted as part of the optional comms pack in the
Jaguar XJ8, XJR, XK8 and XKR
from 1996 to 1998.

This phone was fitted prior to the StarTAC model.
These phones are extraordinarily rare - especially in this brand new unused and boxed condition.

The phone is in the original box and has the protective plastic still on the screen. They have only been taken out of the box to be tested.

These phones have the all important Jaguar firmware upgrade which means they are 100% compatible with the in-car system. Standard Motorola 8700 phones will not be compatible.

They also have the Jaguar logo on the inside of the flip mouthpiece and show the Jaguar logo on start-up.
