The Motorola
V50 BMW Model
With the all important
BMW firmware (software) upgrade.
This phone is the
very rare version of the Motorola V50 fitted as optional extras in BMW cars from
1999 to 2003 including the X5, 3 series, 5 series and 7 series. This
phone is still available new from BMW but will cost you well over £400 if you
can get one.
This phone functions in the following BMW vehicles with the
optional BMW comms pack:
3 series (E46)
5 series (E39)
7 series*(E38)*
X5 (E63)
(*please see notes at bottom of this page for 7 series compatibility)
This phone is also compatible with the cars originally fitted
with the Motorola V3688 and V3690.
When switching on, the BMW
firmware equipped phones display the BMW welcome screen. The BMW logo shows
for a couple of seconds and then the network operator name is shown.
This phone works as a normal mobile outside of the
car, but when clipped into the cradle in the centre console of your car,
the address book will be displayed on the nav screen and the phone can be
operated by the multifunction steering wheel controls (where fitted) for voice
activated dialing and hands free compatibility.
These phones are incredibly rare
and sometimes we are out of stock for weeks at a time. We currently only have a
couple available, and when they have gone, we may be out of stock for some time.
Because of the
additional factory installed firmware this phone will be compatible with all of the in-car
features, voice dialing, handsfree, phonebook interface etc etc.

phones are unlocked and will work on Vodafone, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin,
Fresh, Tesco etc etc.
But they WILL NOT WORK WITH 3 NETWORK

makes and models of phone fitted to the 7 series E38, so to ensure this phone is
the correct model for your car, please phone BMW customer information on
0800 325 600 or customer services on 0870 5050 160, give them the VIN number of
your car and they will confirm which phone was originally fitted to your
vehicle.
